Williams Hybrid Banana

'Williams' Hybrid Banana is an hot weather-loving Australian banana tree and is the main banana variety of the Australian commercial banana industry. Williams is a tall Dwarf Cavendish that thrives in hot climates.  In tropical climates they grow to 8 feet tall and produce less leaves before bunching.  Banana bunches can grow to 175 pounds in the right conditions. Fruit becomes damaged if the temperature drops below 50°f.  It will handle cold nights 32°f as long as it has daytime weather that is above 68° f.  Fruit will not grow in cooler climates.

Growing Information

Temp: For best growth above 65°F is recommended. Wind tolerant
Light: Full sun to no less than 30% shade. Foliage growers should use 30%-60% shade.
Soil: Good water holding capacity is needed
Mature Height: 8-10'
