 Water Hawthorne loves to bloom in icy cold water. As long as your pond is not frozen solid, it will bloom and grow.
A lily-like pond plant, the flowers have thick white pedals that push up through the cracks in the melting ice.
Blooms in the cool water of early spring and late fall. When the water warms in early summer the plant goes dormant. Water Hawthorne then comes back again when the weather cools.
The wonderful white vanilla scented flowers rise above the water surface. Flowers are budding and blooming now! The leaves are mottled green and oblong. The undersides of the leaves are red in color. Truly unique pond plant! Shipped bare root.

size and are 2-3 times larger than ordinary iris. Water Iris
are especially grown to thrive in aquatic gardens. Regular iris
grows from bulbs that do not survive in aquatic gardens.
Water irises are adapted to moist bog and pond conditions and grow
from thick tubers. There are many beautiful varieties to choose from
and more in the warming spring months to come!
